Passion Fruit

Les Fleurs

Geometric Illustrations

I've had so much spare time lately I decided to get back into doing some art and had this idea for ages but never got round to it. I used paper cuts of animals and used their reflections to draw attention to the shape of their silhouettes rather than the fine details. The geometric colour blocking gives them a contemporary feel and it let me be creative with the colour variations. I've framed some of them up and set up a shop on etsy.com which i'll link at the bottom.

Experimentation Work Pre-Final Piece

I was working with screen printing to achieve a gradient wash of colour, what I found with using this technique was that the fabric had a heavier handle and a flat stiff surface because of the way the colour sat on top of the fabric rather than penetrating in. It didn't drape well and had limitations with being easily repeated in long lengths.

Organic Printing

Here are some examples of printing with natural materials, I used a combination of potatoes and sweet potatoes to carve out simplistic and geometric shapes. I later drew in small patterns to relate them to my theme and inspiration of the Eden project in Cornwall.

I want to move on to using the surface pattern of other objects to print with to create interesting natural patterns since being inspired by these images from pinterest
