Completely obsessed with Peter Alexander's work, such a vibrancy to his monoprints that really capture the exotic climates, the colour combinations are brilliant and so exciting. Itching to get into the print room to create some of my own inspired work

Trend Forcasting
I'm not big on fashion but I've noticed something really interesting happening this S/S '14. It links in nicely with my recent project using the Eden Project as inspiration, and forecasting is quite apt in interior as well as fashion and often mirror each other, so I thought i'd show a few images relating to exotic prints, tropical designs and block silhouettes. I have found these prints are really similar to my own designs by complete coincidence but they have given me some fresh new ideas which I can hopefully take further.

Foundation Catch Up
So I haven't really been keeping up to date on the blog of all my work, but i've collected a few images of work and sketch book pages that i've particularly liked.
colour ways
shell patterns
First attempt at screen printing a repeat on fabric, which first got me into it, inspired by distorted fonts and geometric shapes, the colours worked especially well
one of my life drawings

Eden Project
A trip to the Eden Project was the much needed inspiration for my latest project for part 2 of my course.
I purchased these little cactus's from the shop to take back and use to draw from, the colours are so vibrant and brighten up my windowsill perfectly
A later photo from the print room of my design developing, I used photo stenciling and exposed my screen as I wanted the design to be detailed, and this way I could use the screen multiple times for colour variation and experimenting. The design was based on a collection of leaves from photos I took, they all had such unique shapes to them.
Weekend In St Ives
The weekend after my Birthday was spent exploring St Ives in Cornwall, these are a few photos taken from a disposable that I recently got developed
We climbed to the top of the hill to find the most beautiful views of the sea for miles and watched the surfers that were around the corner at the next beach along.
I was fascinated by the intricate patterns created in the sand, and the rippling of the water passing through that glistened.
I had the most relaxing time, it was nice to get away from college work to get a fresh perspective and new surroundings. We ate well and slept comfortably in a double bed, watched television in the bath drinking cider, it was such a change from student life and I can't wait to go back and stay there again
